Umbreon has a lot of Special Defense, making it a very tank-like Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet. They have many Status Moves they can use and ways to restore their HP. As a Pure Dark Type Pokémon, they have three weaknesses and can withstand even most super-effective attacks. Fighting against other players will always be more difficult, but luckily the method to defeat all Umbreons remains the same. The best counters against Umbreon are strong Fighting Type Pokémon that can deal a lot of physical damage. Iron hands, Hariyamaand leg moth they all have the potential to knock out Umbreon without much trouble. Strong Fairy Type Pokémon like Tinkaton And Azumarill also counter it and will take less damage from Foul Play, a common Umbreon move that uses the target’s attack stats to deal damage. Dark, Fairy, and Fighting Type Pokémon are all resistant to Dark Type attacks and can be used to defeat Umbreon without much trouble.
