Why is Apex Legends Mobile shutting down?

In a development update for Apex Legends Mobile, Respawn Entertainment and EA announced that they have decided to discontinue the mobile game. The end of Apex Legends Mobile is scheduled for May 1, 2023. Here’s what you need to know about Apex Legends Mobile shutting down.

When will Apex Legends Mobile shut down?

As mentioned by the developers in the official blogApex Legends Mobile is available to play until May 1, 2023, after which the game will be removed from all regions. The blog emphasized that the decision behind Apex Legends Mobile’s sunset is platform-specific. It also mentions that despite a brilliant start, the content is not up to the mark, which is why Apex Legends Mobile will be permanently shut down.

Of course, fans are disappointed because Apex Legends Mobile featured some unique characters like Fade and Rhapsody. These characters have never been seen before and are only designed for the mobile version of Apex Legends. The mobile fps title also had several modes where you could participate outside of the traditional battle royale and even included a third-person perspective. Apex Legends Mobile also introduced the perk and loadout system, which allowed customization options for Legend skills.

Can you get a refund for Apex Legends Mobile purchases?

Unfortunately, no, you cannot get a refund for Apex Legends Mobile purchases. As per the EA User Agreement, purchases made with real money are non-refundable. For other refund requests, you must refer to third-party platforms where the game was purchased. All in-game real money purchases have been discontinued on January 31, 2023. Existing Syndicate Gold and other in-game currency may be spent until operations cease. All in-game purchases will be retained until Apex Legends Mobile officially shuts down.
