Thane: Two children died after drowning in a water-filled pit dug for a pipeline in Ambernath of Thane district. The police registered a case of negligence against the two contractors.
According to the police, six and eight-year-old children were playing near their house in Dhawalpada area of Ambernath on Wednesday. Meanwhile, he accidentally fell while playing in a ditch filled with rainwater. Both the men were pulled out by the fire brigade. However, he was declared dead before treatment at the hospital.

According to the police, a case has been registered against two MIDC contractors. Following the accident, the families of the dead children and local residents staged protests demanding action against the contractor.
