Top Solana NFT projects DeGods and y00ts to exit the blockchain and ‘explore new opportunities’ – businessupdates.org

Two top Solana NFT projects, DeGods and y00ts, have announced they will be leaving the blockchain in 2023, sparking conflicting feelings in the crypto community.

On the weekend, DeGods announced on Twitter that it will migrate to Ethereum, while sister project y00ts will move to Polygon early next year, the teams shared. The exodus will also transfer DeGods’ DUST token – used to trade and mint NFTs on its ecosystem – to the respective blockchains.

The migration brought conflicting views from community members and the Solana NFT ecosystem as a whole, as some disapproved of the move, while others were excited and one person even called it a “level up.”

“At the beginning of the year, we noticed that much of the attention of the creator economy was focused on ETH and Solana,” Ryan Wyatt, CEO of Polygon Studios, told businessupdates.org. “That’s why we decided to buck the trend and focus on web3’s untapped potential by onboarding major corporate brands, DeFi platforms and gaming companies. We have done this successfully through investments in ecosystem funds and supporting white glove partnerships.”

Polygon has gone all out to make its layer-2 blockchain a well-known home for crypto projects in the space. Earlier this year, Polygon announced partnerships with Starbucks and disneywhile also having big brands like Prada and Adidas launch NFT projects through its blockchain.

“There is an argument for that [DeGods] Solana capped, “DeGods project lead and y00ts creator, Rohun Vora, known as Frank, said in a Twitter Spaces on Monday. “It’s hard to accept, but it’s been hard to grow at the pace we want to grow. If Ethereum is where we need to go to keep growing, then that’s what we need to do.”
