The best fire Pokémon in Pokémon Go 2023

by Ana Lopez

In this guide, we dive into the best Fire Pokémon you can catch in Pokémon Go. Yes, we know you can probably guess at least a few of the creatures on this list, but who knows, maybe one or two entries will surprise you, and if not, congratulations, your taste in Pokémon Go fire Pokémon is glowing red.

Or, if you’re not looking for a fire-type ‘mon’, you might like our lists of the best Electric Pokémon, Psychic Pokémon, and Water Pokémon in Pokémon Go more to your liking. Alternatively, if you want a break from these sweet creatures, we have some great lists, such as games like The Witcher 3, Soulslike games, and Cowboy games for you to check out.

Anyway, onto what we consider to be the ten best Fire Pokémon that you can get in Pokémon Go.

Fire Pokémon Charizard

charizard

Fast attack: Cinder
Charge Attack: Burn blast

Do not worry. We can hear you all say, ‘well, duh’, of course Charizard is on this list. The first generation stage three ‘mon is still one of the most popular fire types out there, even after all these years. We also can’t forget how powerful Charizard is, and whatever Pokémon game you play, this beast deserves a spot on your team. Oh, and the fact that it can turn into Mega Charizard doesn’t hurt either.

Fire Pokémon Flareon

Flareon

Fast attack: Turn fire
Charged Attack: Flamethrower

To be fair, most lists like this are bound to have some connection to Eevee, and since Flareon is a fine fire type, there’s no reason not to claim a place on this list. Besides, look at this cute creature, it’s as mighty as it is cute, and if you check out our Pokémon Go Eevee evolution guide, you could have a team of eeveelutions – how cute is that?

Fire Pokémon Arcanine

Arcanine

Fast attack: Fire fang
Charged Attack: Flamethrower

This is my favorite Pokémon, no ifs, ones or buts. I like this ‘mon and have no problem defending my choice here. Not that you have to, many people will no doubt agree that Arcanine is a top-level Fire-type Pokémon, and if you don’t, I don’t believe you. In fact, I declare you a liar, liar, pants on fire. Arcanine is first-generation, but that hasn’t stopped it from remaining a fan favorite, and it’s a formidable companion in Pokémon Go.

Fire Pokémon Entei

Entei

Fast attack: Fire fang
Charged Attack: Overheating

Entei is a favorite when it comes to Legendary Pokémon here at business updates. In fact, we generally like the legendary beast trio – maybe that’s because they hail from the superior region of Johto. In all seriousness, Entei is a formidable fire type and is honestly one of the best legends to embrace the flames.

Fire Pokémon Houndoom

Houndoom

Fast attack: Fire fang
Charged Attack: Flamethrower

Another Pokémon that happens to be a personal favorite, and also from the Johto region, is Houndoom. This is a ferocious ‘mon, but Houndoom is not only capable of great fire damage, but he can also use some dark attacks, so that’s another direction you can take it if you want to.

Fire Pokémon Blaziken

Blaziken

Fast attack: Turn fire
Charged Attack: Burn blast

Blaziken is the latest evolution of generation three starter Torcic, and what a fine fire type it is. Seriously, if you’re looking for a man who can bring the heat and embrace his inner karate kid, look no further. You have found your new companion.

Fire Pokémon Typhlosion

Typhlosia

Fast attack: Cinder
Charged Attack: Burn blast

Fire types may be cool, but Typhlosion is yet another favorite for the PT crew. This stage three Pokémon is the latest evolution of generation two starter Cyndaquil, and we’re convinced that Typhlosion is by far one of the best fire types you can get in Pokémon Go, especially since it has access to some powerful attacks.

Fire Pokémon Talonflame

Claw flame

Fast attack: Turn fire
Charged Attack: Fire blast

Talonflame is both a fire and a flying type, giving it access to a variety of moves that can serve you well in battle. Combining a fire attack with a flying attack means that Talonflame is capable of dealing damage to the vast majority of ‘mon. However, being a third stage creature, you’ll need to put in some effort if you want this hot girl.

Fire Pokémon Salazzle

Salazzle

Fast attack: To burn
Charged Attack: Fire blast

Salazzle is here for the simple reason that it’s a poison and fire type hybrid, which is pretty unique, and can be quite a devastating combination. Salazzle is originally from the Alola region, which means he is part of the seventh generation. Is Salazzle the best Pokémon Go fire Pokémon? No, but it could still be a good fit for your team.

Fire Pokémon Moltres

moltres

Fast attack: Turn fire
Charged Attack: Overheating

Come on, you didn’t seriously think we’d leave the legendary firebird off this list, did you? Of course, Moltres is here, and to be honest, it would be a shock if one of the legendary birds didn’t appear on lists like this for their respective types. Moltres has some incredible moves on offer. Whatever skills you end up with, this ‘mon’ will put up a strong fight.
