Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport has set yet another record in terms of passenger traffic. On 12th February, SVPI Airport recorded the highest number of passengers. On Sunday, the airport handled 37,696 passengers with 267 flights, the highest number ever.

Services were drastically increased

Over the last few years, several infrastructure and services have been drastically enhanced at SVPI Airport for an outstanding passenger experience. Passengers can have a seamless journey through the terminal building thanks to amenities like Goodness Desk, Dynamic Queue Management and Floor Walking Customer Service Executives.

A security hold area with greater capacity and efficiency will soon be operational

Recently, digital barcode scanners have been installed at the terminal gates for faster entry and a larger arrival hall with additional belts, upgraded Z check-in system, pre-SHA area, increased X-ray machines and convenient infrastructure have been added. Also, capacity has been increased by opening two new boarding gates at the domestic terminal. Not only this, the security hold area will soon be operational with more capacity and efficiency.

31,688 domestic passengers and 6,008 international passengers benefited

Of the 37,696 passengers who traveled on various scheduled and non-scheduled flights, 31,688 were domestic while 6,008 were international. A dedicated general aviation terminal has led to a significant increase in non-scheduled flight movements in the last one year.

Top international destinations from Ahmedabad include Dubai, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru are the top three domestic destinations. Also SVPIA will continue to improve its domestic and international connectivity footprint with a network of 33 domestic and 15 international destinations.
