The PokémonGO The electric event, dubbed Crackling Voltage, is about to be here and will introduce players to various forms of specialized content for a limited period of time. Pokemon GO Electric event start date

The PokémonGO electric event runs from January 25 to February 8, however, during this period, different content will be phased in and out, meaning you’ll need to play every day to engage with all the new content.
The entire event is called Crackling Voltage and will focus on Electric-type Pokemon, with new wild encounters, field research tasks, raids, and a Team GO Rocket takeover that will see a new Shadow Pokemon. Below we cover all the new content and how long it is expected to be part of the event.
Wild encounters
From January 27 to February 5, different types of electric Pokemon will appear more often in the wild. Some of them also get a chance to shine, with the shiny helicopter appearing for the first time.

Pokemon GO Electric Event: Team GO Rocket Takeover

From February 1, the new acquisition of Team GO Rocket will start, which will run until February 5. This introduces a special investigation story where players hunt down Giovanni for Shadow Registeel, and this story can be completed until the end of Season 9 in March. 1.
As a bonus to this part of the event, Team GO Rocket will appear more often at PokeStops to challenge. There are also new Mysterious Component rewards for field research tasks completed during this part of the event.
