A total of 56 ICT Labs and 86 Computer Literacy Centers have been allocated in Rajkot district in the year 2022-23. Its biggest advantage is that it provides teachers and students with the ability to access a wide variety of information from around the world. Teachers have many resources at their fingertips, which can greatly improve their teaching-learning process

Rajkot Incharge informed that a total of 56 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Labs and 81 Computer Literacy Centers have been operationalized in government schools from classes 1 to 8 in Rajkot district and 1713 classrooms in 566 government schools of Rajkot district. District Project Co-ordinator, District Primary Education Officer Satoshi Shiksha and District Education Officer B. S. Kaila gave it. He further said that in Computer Literacy, facilities including server desk top monitor, headphones, Wi-Fi, desktop computers, web cameras, headphones in ICT labs, interactive panels, laptops have been made available in each class room in Gyankunj project.

Teachers and learners no longer have to rely on printed books and other materials in physical media kept in libraries for their educational needs. With the help of the Internet and the World Wide Web, learning materials in almost every subject and in a variety of media can now be accessed at any time of the day and in unlimited numbers. Teachers’ complex instructions can be easily interpreted and interactive classes are able to make teaching and lessons more enjoyable thus improving students’ attendance and concentration.

The standard of education in government schools will rise

Bina Bharad, MIS Officer (Comprehensive Education) of this project says that in today’s digital era, it is the need of the hour to implement new teaching methods techniques and other innovative approaches in the education sector. Today’s student is more agile and technology savvy while the teacher is also technology savvy. Not only but it is necessary to be aware of it. For this purpose, Gyankunj is a project to improve teaching-learning process and classroom interactivity with the help of various technology tools such as laptops, interactive panels and related software.

The interactive classroom teaching method ‘Gyankunj’ is implemented in the entire state from the year 2017-18. Total of Rajkot District under Phase-III. A total of 1713 classrooms of 566 schools are going to be implemented. This will increase the level of computer education in government primary and secondary schools.
