Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the green signal from platform number seventeen and eighteen of Central Railway’s CSTM, in which some railway travelers hailed the modern train, while some organizations protested over the issue of running two trains simultaneously.
The Prime Minister gave the green signal to both the trains from platform number seventeen and eighteen at quarter past four and four respectively, in which opening day booking full was recorded in both these trains.
The ICF-built Vande Bharat Express train from Chennai is the first of two trains on the Mumbai division, which for the first time in history passed through Sadsadat on both ghat sections without the help of push and pull engines. Regarding this Vande Bharat Express train (Mumbai to Shirdi 22223) Loco Pilot Alok Chakraborty and other assistant pilots and team of guards said that the experience of running this train without (banker engine) in the ghat section has been excellent, which has never happened before in the past. This train has parking brake system. Each coach has a motor system, which allows the train to climb without any engine or support in the ghat section, it added. However, passengers protested against Vande Bharat Express due to the stopping of other trains including Punjab Mail, Sevagram Express due to this train.

The ticket fare of both these trains was announced, wherein the Mumbai to Shirdi (No. 22223) chair car fare (with catering) is Rs. 975 and Mumbai to Solapur (No. 22225) will be Rs 1300, while the fare in executive coach (with catering charges) will be Rs 1840 from Mumbai to Shirdi and Rs 2365 from Mumbai to Solapur, said a Central Railway official.
