Internet shut down after clashes, vandalism and arson between two communities in Jharkhand’s Palamu

In Jharkhand’s Palamuna Panki, the atmosphere has heated up as two communities clashed. The situation has been brought under control by applying Section 144 in Panki block where the incident took place. Pictures of the damage caused due to the incident have come out. Two houses were torched, while half a dozen shops were vandalized amid a dispute over the installation of pylons in the square adjacent to Panki Masjid.
Vehicles were also damaged during the collision. After the incident, the police have turned the entire area into a camp. Apart from people from both sides, policemen have also been injured. Who is being treated at Palamu Medical College.
Police have taken some miscreants from both sides into custody, people are being interrogated. Along with this, the investigation of the matter has also been started. Police officials have appealed to people to maintain peace.
The miscreants pelted stones, set fire and partially burnt 2-3 houses, the police officer said. 2 police vehicles were damaged. 4 police personnel have been injured. Section 144 has been imposed in the area and internet services have been suspended. People have been appealed not to heed rumours.
