The historic season of Women’s T20 World Cup has started with a bang from yesterday. This season is historic as it will be the first time that the Women’s T20 World Cup will be broadcast in 100 countries. This is the first major broadcast in the world of women’s sports. Yesterday Sri Lanka beat the host team South Africa with a thrilling win by 3 runs. On 12 February India And the world is seeing a lot of excitement about the match between Pakistan.

But before this exciting match, shocking news has come out for the fans and for the Indian women’s cricket team. Smriti Mandhana, vice captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, is unable to play in this match. She was unable to play in the second warm-up match due to an injury in the first warm-up match. Due to which the chances of him playing in the match against Pakistan are less. There is no news of his recovery. Smriti Mandhana suffered an injury on her finger during the warm up match.

The 10 teams participating in the tournament have been divided into two groups. India have been placed in Group B along with England, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies. On the other hand, Group A consists of defending champions Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and New Zealand apart from hosts South Africa. In the group round, each team will play one match each against the rest of the teams in their group. The top two teams from both groups will enter the semi-finals.

India’s Schedule in T20 World Cup

The Indian women’s team will start their campaign against the Pakistan women’s team tomorrow at 6.30 pm. The second of the 4 group stage matches will be played against West Indies on February 15, England on February 18 and Ireland on February 20.
