Hijab mandatory for female students and teachers in Pakistan’s PoK

Pakistan The Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government has made hijab mandatory for female students and teachers in co-educational institutions in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Sama informed that, in this regard, a notification has been issued by the PoK government.

As per the notification, wearing of hijab will be mandatory for female students and teachers in co-educational institutions. Action will be taken against the head of the organization for violating the order.

Jio News has warned in a circular that strict action will be taken against the heads of the organization if they fail to implement the instructions issued by the authorities. However, the circular did not specify what action would be taken against female students and teachers who do not wear hijab.

People severely criticized this decision of the government

People are strongly criticizing the decision of PTI government led by Sardar Tanveer. Mariana Babar criticized the decision saying that women should be given an option.

In a tweet, Mariana Babar said that the PoK government has made it mandatory for female students and female teachers in co-educational educational institutions to wear hijab. Murtaza Solangi, on the other hand, compared the PTI-led government’s decision to that of the Taliban. Last year, the Taliban also made it mandatory for women in Afghanistan to wear the hijab in public.
