Surendranagar: Illegal coal mines are booming in Nana Madhad and Mota Madhad villages of Wadwan taluk. Blasting is done four to five times a day in these mines. Due to which, huge cracks have fallen in the houses of the villagers.

Large scale illegal coal mines are located around Nana Madhad and Mota Madhad villages of Wadwan taluk of Wadwan district. Due to which the people of both the villages have to suffer heavy losses. Blasting is done four to five times a day in the mine. Because of which the people living here feel shocks like earthquakes every now and then. The houses of the village have got huge cracks. This crack has grown so much that the houses can collapse anytime. In this situation, people are living under the threat of fear.

Buildings are falling down due to blasting

Illegal mineral theft and blasting lead to soil erosion. So there is fear of respiratory and skin diseases in the surrounding people. Agriculture has also suffered due to constant flying rains. This has been presented many times but no action is taken. People feel afraid even to complain due to the bully of land mafia. If this situation continues, people will be forced to migrate.
