Rajkot: A show cause notice has been issued to Jasdan Municipality in Rajkot district due to poor quality of works. There were also complaints of corruption due to poor quality of road work.
RajkotA show cause notice has been issued in Jasdan Municipality for very low quality works. In the last one year, there was an uproar of corruption due to the poor quality of newly constructed roads. The Executive Engineer of the Rajkot Regional Commissioner’s Office issued a show cause notice to those responsible for corruption.
The executive engineer of the regional commissioner’s office has sent a notice and the system has become rushed and the executive engineer and the project engineer have said in the notice that all the works are of poor quality in the first place while inspecting all the works. It has also been ordered not to pay the amount of work going on in Jasdan municipality. On the other hand, the locals have demanded strict action against those involved in corruption.
Dhirubhai Chayani, a local of Jasdan, says that there is corruption in Jasdan municipality following Dagle. Be it water or road works or any other work there is huge corruption. Newly constructed roads are eroded in just two months. All roads inside most of the streets including the temporary street road or the main road have collapsed. He has demanded to set up an inquiry committee on this and take uniform action against the people who commit corruption.

On the other hand, the Assistant Engineer of Jasdan Municipality staged a sit-in to improve poor road performance through that agency. But whether the corrupt official will be punished, the investigation was held.
