After about 6 months of mega demolition in Betdraraka of Draraka taluk, the system has again started moving bulldozers in the sensitive coastal areas. This time Drarka-Somnath highway will be operated in Bhogat, Navdra, and Yatradham Harshad. Actions have been initiated to remove illegal encroachment on government land along the coast. An advance notice was given for this. After which an appeal was made to vacate the area as pressure was to be removed by the system. So people have voluntarily vacated the space. The mega demolition work was started from March 11. Which will last for approximately 5 days or more.
On the first day, 3.70 lakh square feet of space was opened
As beautiful as Saurashtra’s coastline is, it is considered highly sensitive from the point of view of security. By smuggling by sea, they can take refuge on the sea coast of Saurashtra. About 9 lakh swacker-ful of land has been pushed in the distance of 25 km from Bhogat to Harshad. The work to open it has started. Which includes raw houses, paved houses, residential and commercial. Out of this, 3.70 lakh square feet of space has been opened on the first day. The estimated cost of which is 2 crores.
Provision of more than 800 policemen
A large contingent of security personnel along with a revenue department team has been deployed for the mega demolition. 1 SP Nitesh Kumar Pandey, 2 DySPs Sameer Sarada and Hardik Prajapati, 20 PIs, 50 psis, more troops in the Range IG area, a team of SRP, Marine Commando Home Guard, GRD personnel, a total of 800 personnel have been deployed. . Also patrolling is done with the help of mobile vans, drone cameras and boats in the sea. Machinery including 6 Hitachi machines, 3 JCB machines, loaders are used for pressure relief.
