In Surat, 60 tonnes of cow-dung Holi was made from cow dung and Vedic Holi was celebrated instead of firewood during Holika Dahan. 60 thousand kg of cow-cast was prepared with a special machine from the dung of 10 thousand cows living in Panjarapol.

Holika Pujan was performed in the evening with rain

Meteorological department predicts more rain

There is a strong unsettled atmosphere in Phagan in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of rain is likely to remain constant in Gujarat for the next 48 hours. Unseasonal rain will continue in Saurashtra, Kutch, South and North Gujarat. Areas including Amreli, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Gir-Somnath may receive rain. So in Valsad, Navsari, Dang, Narmada, Surat of South Gujarat, there will be heavy wind and rain with thunder. Rain is also forecast in Mehsana, Patan, Aravalli, Banaskantha, Gandhinagar of North Gujarat. Crops including wheat, mango, chickpea, chiku, cumin are feared to be damaged due to widespread rain in the state.
