According to environmentalists, mixing of drainage water in the water of this bore lake is likely to cause huge damage to people including people. Also, since it is summer season, when many birds are migrating on the water of this lake, there are chances of harming the birds by drinking the water.
Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation is compromising the health of the people of the city.. Due to the negligence of the Municipal Corporation, people have been forced to drink contaminated water. Polluted and drainage water is being poured into Gaurishankar lake which is a priceless gift of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji. Badly contaminated sewage water of Sidsar village is mixing with the pure water of Gaurishankar lake which is a historical heritage of Bhavnagar.. due to which two lakh people are forced to drink dirty water.
Due to this serious negligence, there is a fear of spreading disease among the people.. People are also suffering from many diseases.. It is important that 25 MLD of water is filtered from Bor lake and supplied to two lakh people. On the other hand, environmentalists have also expressed concern on this issue.

Apart from this, due to continuous mixing of contaminated water, there are chances of growth of bad vegetation in the water of bore lake. Which does a great job in depurating pure water. There is a possibility of causing great harm to people by consuming this water. And as per the rules and laws of the Government of India, if such contaminated water is mixed with pure drinking water, legal action can be taken against the responsible persons.
