Gujarat budget 2023: Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai has presented the budget for the second consecutive time. Finance Minister Kanu Desai has presented a budget of Rs 3.1 lakh crore. 57,053 crore has been increased in the budget compared to last year.

Gujarat Budget 2023

Gujarat Finance Minister Kanu Desai presented a budget of Rs 3.01 lakh crore for the year 2023-24. It was the first budget of the new government after the landslide victory in the assembly elections last year. In this budget, the government made several announcements that were development oriented and provided relief to the common and middle class. Presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that Gujarat has been developing continuously in the last two decades. In which the capital expenditure by the government has been 72 thousand 509 crores. The special thing about this budget is that the government has not made any increase in the existing tax structure. Then let’s know what are the 10 important things of this budget of Gujarat government.

Know important announcements in Gujarat Budget 2023-24

  1. No tax of any kind has been levied on the citizens of Gujarat.
  2. VAT on CNG and PNG has been reduced in the state. VAT on CNG and PNG has been reduced from 15 percent to 5 percent.
  3. Work on three structures is under progress under the six-laning of Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway at a cost of Rs 913 crore. With the completion of this work, the national highway connecting Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad will become fully six-lane. A provision of 2615 crores has been made for six-laning of Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Rajkot highway at a cost of 3350 crores.
  4. A provision of ₹ 500 crore has been made to set up Shramik Basera for housing the workers near the place of work. All families will be given a family identity card.
  5. A provision of ₹ 1600 crore has been made for free treatment under the scheme in PMJAY. Insurance cover for 85 lakh families under PMJAY increased from 5 lakh to 10 lakh.
  6. Under the Ujjwala scheme, a provision of ₹ 500 crore has been made to provide two gas cylinders free of cost to 39 lakh families every year.
  7. 1 kg gram per month for NFSA families will now be provided across the state.
  8. A provision of ₹ 1391 crore has been made for MNREGA.
  9. It will be planned to build 1 district level sports complex in each district and 1 taluka level sports complex in the district.
  10. A provision of ₹ 50 crore has been made to provide school vouchers of ₹ 20 thousand to the talented students who have studied in RTE from class 1 to 8 to study in private schools after class 8.
  11. 5 high speed corridors will be built.
  12. Two more lion safaris will be launched in Gir.
  13. A women battalion of SRP will be prepared.
  14. A total provision of Rs 8 thousand 738 crore has been made for the Department of Energy and Petrochemicals.
  15. For Forest-Environment Department Rs. 2,063 crore has been arranged.
  16. A provision of Rs 8 thousand 589 crore has been made for the Industries and Mines Department.
  17. 21 thousand 605 crore rupees have been arranged for Agricultural Farmer Welfare and Cooperative Department.
  18. 2,193 crores have been arranged for the science and technology department.
  19. An arrangement of Rs 9,705 crore has been made for the water resources department.
  20. A total provision of 20 thousand 642 crore rupees has been made for road and building department.
