‘Samvardhini Nyas’, an organization associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has launched a campaign called ‘Garbha Sanskar’ for pregnant women with the aim of teaching values and culture to children in the womb. National Organization Secretary of the Trust Madhuri Marathe gave information about this on Monday. The trust, along with gynaecologists, Ayurvedic practitioners and yoga instructors, is organizing a program that will include reading the Gita and Ramayana and yoga exercises during pregnancy to “give cultural values to children in the womb”. Marathe said that the program will be conducted for children aged two years in the womb and emphasis will be placed on the chanting of verses from Gita and verses from Ramayana. “A baby can learn up to 500 words in the womb,” he said. Marathe said, “The objective of this campaign is to develop a program that would inculcate the child in the womb and the process would continue until the child turns two years old.” The Mahila Branch Samvardhi Nyas plans to reach at least 1,000 women under this campaign. Marathe said that under this campaign, the trust organized a workshop at Jawaharlal Nehru University on Sunday, in which gynecologists from several hospitals including All India Institute of Medical Sciences-Delhi participated.
