Theft: Crime filed against former driver
Mumbai: From the house of 76-year-old father of Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam, Rs. A case was registered against the former driver for theft of 72 lakhs.
Sonu Nigam’s father Agamkumar Nigam lives in Windsor Grand Building in Oshiwara area of Andheri West and the theft took place between March 19 and 20.
Sonu Nigam’s sister Nikita filed a complaint in the matter at the Oshiwara police station on Wednesday. According to the complaint, Rehan had been working as a driver for Agamkumar for eight months, but was recently fired as his work was not satisfactory.
Agamkumar went to Nikita’s house in Versova area for lunch on Sunday afternoon and returned shortly after. In the evening, he called his daughter and told that Rs. 40 lakhs are missing.
The next day, Agamkumar went to his son’s residence at Seven Bungalows for visa work and when he returned in the evening, another Rs. 32 lakhs were also found to be missing. Meanwhile, Agamkumar and Nikita checked the society’s CCTV camera footage, in which former driver Rehan was seen walking towards their flat, carrying bags in both hands as he left.
Agamkumar suspected that Rehan entered his flat with the help of a duplicate key and took Rs. 72 lakhs were stolen. Meanwhile, based on Nikita’s complaint, the police registered a case and started an investigation. (PTI)
