Facebook rolls out new comment moderation tools for creators • businessupdates.org

Facebook announced today that it is introducing more comment moderation tools and controls to make it easier for creators to manage conversations on the social network. Creators can now search for comments by keywords, including emojis, commenter names and dates, on their posts and take bulk actions like like or hide. These new tools will be available through the Comments Manager section in Facebook’s professional dashboard. Facebook says it will be announcing the feature today on the occasion of Safer Internet Day.

The Meta social media network also rolls out moderation metrics in the Moderation Assist activity log. For context, Moderation Help proactively moderates new comments on creator posts using preset criteria. With this new addition, creators can see statistics about certain things, such as the number of comments hidden in the last 30 days.

Creators can now also see what criteria are met for hiding comments with the inline comment preview and criteria tag in the Moderation Aid activity log.

“Building tools that help protect creators and their communities is fundamental to Facebook’s creators efforts, and we’ve continued to invest in this,” Bobby Marshall, the leader of Facebook’s creator safety programs, said in a statement. “We recently expanded Moderation Help and introduced a Creator Support Hub last year. Today’s updates make it much easier for creators to search comments — by keyword, date, emoji, and more — and take bulk actions around them, like liking or hiding them. Our goal with these tools is to give creators time to do what they do best: create content and build their community.”

Meta says the rollout is part of its effort to support creators and ensure they can interact securely with their communities. Last year, the company expanded access to live chat agent support to eligible creators and moderation features rolled out in professional mode. Meta says it’s focused on providing creators with more comment moderation tools and controls.
