The month of March has already started and there have been changes in many government department regulations, from LPG to milk price hike, and in line with this, the Indian government has given a deadline of March 31 to link PAN card and Aadhaar card.
According to the information provided by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), if the Pancard holder does not comply with the directive given by the government till March 31, their business and tax related services will be affected. Simply put, their account will be banned.
Out of total 61 crore permanent account numbers, 48 ​​crore accounts have been linked with Aadhaar and 13 crore people have not yet linked PAN-Aadhaar. The government has issued a final warning to such people and warned of action against them if they do not link Aadhaar and PAN card by March 31.
People who do not follow the directions given by the government till March 31 will not be given benefits in business and tax related activities. Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) chairman Nitin Gupta said several crore PAN cards are still not linked with Aadhaar cards, but the work is expected to be completed by the end of March 31.
The government has made it mandatory to link PAN card with Aadhaar and the deadline for this has been set as March 31, 2023. It has also been said that PAN cards not linked with Aadhaar will be declared inactive after this date. The government has also said that a fee of Rs 1,000 will have to be paid to link PAN card with Aadhaar between March 31.
