Fans of the Harry Potter series eagerly awaiting Hogwarts Legacy have scoured the internet for clues as to what they might experience in the game. Hogwarts Legacy advertises itself as a game where you can live your own Hogwarts adventure. While you can easily explore the school and surrounding grounds by broom flight, a broom wouldn’t help you explore the infamous Black Lake. We’re here to answer the burning fan question: can you swim in Hogwarts Legacy?

Can you swim in Hogwarts Legacy?
You will be. While Avalanche took the time to acknowledge this fan request, their retweet from this clip of the Harry Potter Movie Twitter account confirms that swimming is a mechanic included in the game.

It’s interesting to note that you only see the player character jump into the water and swim across the surface. Long time Harry Potter fans will know that an important moment of Harry Potter and the goblet of fire was the second task of the Triwizard Tournament, in which Harry had to dive deep into the Black Lake to save his friends. It’s not confirmed if we’ll be able to dive underwater and fully discover what lies below in the infamous Hogwarts Lake, or if we’ll be able to meet the Merpeople who live within it.
