After the apology, the High Court Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Vikas Mahajan withdrew the show cause notice issued against Agnihotri and also acquitted him of the criminal defamation case. Vivek Agnihotri said that I have the highest respect for the court. I have not knowingly made the statement for contempt of court and I had no such intention.
After this apology, the court acquitted him of the charges, but also advised him to refrain from such comments in future. Earlier in December, Vivek Agnihotri apologized in this matter. After this, his lawyer spoke about the apology in the court, on which the court said that Vivek Agnihotri will have to appear here and say the same thing. Initially, Vivek Agnihotri also said that he had retracted the tweets, but the public prosecutor claimed that Twitter was saying that Agnihotri’s tweets were deleted by him.
