A special gift will be given to women passengers by BEST. By the end of this year, a total of 3000 AC buses will join the BEST fleet one after the other. BEST has decided to run 500 of these buses exclusively for women. Then the crowded journey of women passengers will be comfortable in the coming time. More than 37 lakh passengers travel by BEST bus every day. In which the number of female passengers is approximately 30 to 33 percent. Mornings and evenings are very crowded while traveling. Due to which, due to jostling, lack of space to sit etc., travel becomes difficult.
Then special services were started by BEST a few years ago to make the journey of women passengers comfortable. After that, from November 2019, Tejashwi’s bus service was started for women passengers only. Tejashwi buses run for women from 8 am to 11:30 am and from 4:30 pm to 8 pm. At present 136 such Tejashwi buses are with BEST. In addition, 294 special bus services run for women during peak hours. This bus plies between 8:30 AM to 10 AM and 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on various routes.
BEST currently has AC buses in addition to regular buses. In the coming time, there is a plan to take this fleet up to ten thousand buses in which most of the buses will be AC buses. BEST plans to add about 3 thousand AC buses to the BEST fleet by the end of this year. Out of which 500 AC buses will run only for women. With the availability of more number of AC bus services, women’s travel will become comfortable.
