Ahmedabad RTO reveals new details in bogus license scam, more than 300 licenses left without trial

A new revelation in RTO’s bogus license scam

In Ahmedabad there is a new revelation in the scam of bogus Paka license without giving driving test. An investigation into the 9 bogus licenses revealed that not 9 but more than 300 driving licenses left the RTO without a trial. 9 bogus vehicles came for license renewal at Subhash Bridge RTO in Ahmedabad without driving test. However, with no details of his data or driving test, a complaint was lodged with the Cybercrime.

Initiated investigation into the involvement of any employee

In Ahmedabad’s Subhash Bridge RTO, bogus valid licenses issued without driving test of vehicles were caught. Because of this, once again questions are being raised against the license issuing system. As the software of RTO was compromised, an investigation was started towards the involvement of an employee of RTO itself in this scam. Now the investigation has revealed that more than 300 licenses were issued without driving test in RTO.

300 licenses have been canceled with immediate effect as the data of such license is not found in the server of RTO. RTO officials say that this scam will not be caught immediately. But whenever the licensee comes for renewal, it will be known whether the license was genuine or not. So RTO officials have also started investigation in this direction.

ARTO sent the inquiry report to the higher authority

In case of bogus license renewal in RTO, the then ARTO seized 9 licenses and conducted an investigation, during which the license data and driving test videos could not be found in any RTO office in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar.

The driving test track application pushed the data of 5 licenses to the govt server and 4 licenses showed pass test in the server, but no driving test details were found. So ARTO investigated and sent the report to the higher authority after the 9 licenses caught were proved to be bogus. ARTO initiated a cybercrime investigation by filing a complaint after orders from higher authorities.

Tampering with RTO’s software

According to the complaint filed in Bogus License, some suspicious applications for approval of driving license of the vehicle were detected in the software. The office of the transport department, seeking the details from the NIC, gave the IP address through an e-mail on May 25 last. It was found to be a private address and not of Subhash Bridge RTO office. Hence, after investigation, many such bogus licenses can be caught. As the software of the RTO has been tampered with, an investigation has been started towards the involvement of an employee of the RTO in this scam.
