In Ahmedabad too, cases of new influenza virus H3N2 are increasing alarmingly. 9 cases of H3N2 have been reported in Ahmedabad city. In which 3 cases of H3N2 have been reported in Jodhpur, 2 in Bodakdev, 2 in Navrangpura and one each in Vejalpur and Maktampura. A new influenza virus H3N2 appeared in the city in January. 3 cases of H3N2 were reported in 10 days of March. In which there has been a sudden increase.
Importantly, all cases of H3N2 have been reported only in the western region. Along with this, there has been an increase in corona cases for the last two-three days. A 25 percent increase has been reported in cases of viral infections in civil OPDs. Alarmingly, 70 percent of patients coming to the OPD are showing symptoms of H3N2.
The health department has come into action regarding the rapid spread of the new virus H3N2 in the state. Health Minister Rishikesh Patel held a review meeting with senior officials. Elderly people and people already suffering from any disease can have more problems with this disease. A patient infected with H3N2 influenza has fever for 2-3 days. Body pain, headache, sore throat, besides this the patient has persistent cough for two to three weeks.
Nowadays the mixed season is going on which has led to the entry of new virus called H3N2 along with viral infections in the city and its patients are increasing. H3N2 infection is increasing in patients with common symptoms like cold, cough, fever. H3N2 cases have increased manifold after viral infection in Ahmedabad. Symptoms of which are cold, cough, fever, vomiting and abdominal pain. Cases of viral infections have increased due to the double season. So the parents and the school system have also become worried about the safety of the students.
