After the death of this Australian cricketer’s mother, the Australian team took to the field wearing black armbands

The fourth and final Test match between India and Australia is being played from Friday. A bad news has come out during this match. Team Australia has given this information by tweeting. Pat Cummins was absent from the last 2 Tests. He returned home as his mother was not well. But yesterday i.e. Friday, Pat Cummins’ mother passed away. Cummins’ mother, Maria, was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment for a long time.

The Australian team will play today wearing ‘black arm bands’ in honor of Pat Cummins’ mother Maria. Pat Cummins has decided to skip the last two Tests of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2023) between India and Australia and go back to take care of his mother. Cricket Australia confirmed the news through its Twitter handle.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Maria Cummins last night,” Cricket Australia wrote. On behalf of Cricket Australia, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Pat Cummins. The Australian men’s team will play today wearing black armbands as a mark of respect.”
Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins decided not to play the remaining two Tests against India to be with his ailing mother at home. Cummins said in a statement, “I have decided not to return to India at this time as my mother is ill and I have come to take care of her.”
